October 31, 2016 our world changed. Caitlin’s diagnosis
rocked our family to the core. So many emotions--- it’s a place that I cannot
bear to go back to and it pains me that we are not alone. After the shock, we made a decision as a family… WE WILL
FIGHT! She’s worth it! There are so many times that I have to hold back the
tears to be strong, think positive, maybe be a little goofy (okay super goofy) to
put a smile on Caitlin’s face.
After 7 months of intense chemotherapy, 20 or so procedure’s
and several hospital stays Caitlin has entered into a less intensive phase
called “maintenance”. This means that
the most intensive parts of her treatment are over. We still have a little less
than two years left of treatment, but she will be able to go back to school and
be around “people” again. She is in a much safer place than 6 months ago.
Here we are at the park which is something that would be out
of the question a few months ago 😊 Just thankful to have these moments.
